TC2 Setup Using AmCap

Setting Up the Tiliter TC2 Camera Using AmCap

AmCap is a lightweight Windows application for viewing and configuring UVC cameras such as the Tiliter TC2.
It’s useful for confirming that the camera is working, adjusting image quality, and storing default settings before using it with the Tiliter Recognition API or JavaPOS driver.

Step 1: Download and Install AmCap

  1. Download AmCap from the official website: AmCap Download
  2. Install the software and launch AmCap.exe.

Step 2: Connect and Select the Camera

  1. Connect the Tiliter TC2 to a USB port. The single connection powers both the camera and its integrated lighting.

In AmCap, open *Devices → (locate the camera).

  • The live video feed should appear immediately.

Step 3: Configure Recommended Settings

Open Options → Video Capture Filter...
You’ll see multiple tabs such as Video Proc Amp and Camera Control.
Adjust the following settings for optimal performance and image consistency.

so they persist even after unplugging or rebooting.

Step 4: Save Lighting State

  1. In the Camera Control tab, set Iris (Absolute) to 100 for lights ON (or 0 for OFF).
  2. Click Apply to save.
    • The TC2 remembers this setting after power cycling.
