Create Device

The Create Device function enables the creation of a new device by registering a virtual device in the Tiliter Recognition API. This function is invoked during the commissioning of a new device. It can be performed in the office before installation. Using the system serial number as the Device ID is advised. This ensures a unique reference. Once the device exists, the Device ID is sent with all recognition requests and is used to improve the results by filtering out unavailable products and taking advantage of the type of camera used.

Defaults to

Indicates the device's assigned department. In multi-department stores, this allows filtering of results based on the department. Example: Isolating nuts to only be sold on certain scales to mitigate nut allergy concerns. Irrelevant for stores that only have devices in a single department.
